5 Bold Flavored Herbal Teas to Tea-Spire You Right Now

Do you remember the first time that you had tea? I don’t, but man, am I glad that we somehow got properly introduced. Whether you want to wind down in the evening, you want something tasty to sip on at work, or you’re not feelin’ too hot, there’s an herbal tea out there for you. The biggest side note that I’d like to share with you today is the difference between black, green, and herbal teas. I learned more about it by reading this article.

My mind was BLOWN when I learned that all teas are made from the same kind of plant – I had no idea. I thought that different kinds of teas came from different kinds of plants. Fun fact: they don’t. The Camellia Sinensis is the plant whose leaves and buds are harvested to create ALL 5 tea varieties – white tea, green tea, oolong tea, black tea, and pu’erh tea. How long the leaves and buds are harvested determines which kind of tea made. An important note to make is that “herbal teas” aren’t really teas at all! They aren’t made from leaves or buds from the Camellia Sinensis plant, therefore, they aren’t actual “teas”. In reality, there are only 5 tea varieties, and they all have caffeine in them (it’s naturally occurring in the Camellia Sinensis plant), while herbal teas don’t have any caffeine because they’re made out of herbs, spices, flowers, fruits, and other natural flavors.

I hope you enjoyed that mini-lesson on tea varieties! Now, back to our normal programming. I am a huge fan of bold-flavored herbal teas, and today I’m going to share a handful of my favorites with you that I enjoy drinking!

Herbal Tea Favorites

Stash Peppermint Tea

Peppermint is known to help with digestion, cure bad breath (yay!), and minimize inflammation. Stash’s peppermint herbal tea is great for after-dinner. The sweet minty smell and taste can help fend off some late night sweet tooth cravings. Peppermint is also known to be soothing. I find it incredibly delicious and relaxing, myself.

Stash Lemon Ginger Tea

I’m not a huge fan of lemon + ginger tea, but you bet that I’ll be drinking it at the onset of a cold or some other kind of bug. Lemon and ginger definitely help soothe my upset stomach, and they’re known to boost your immune system, too. I usually water this kind down a little because it has a very bold flavor.

Stash Christmas Eve Herbal Tea

My sister got me addicted to Stash’s Christmas Eve herbal tea. She actually did “A Year of Tea,” where she explored and bought a ton of different teas all year long. This tea was a part of the “Year of Tea,” and I’ve been enjoying it throughout the years (no matter if it’s close to Christmas time or not!) ever since. When you steep this tea, it smells soo good. It has mint, cinnamon, orange peels, vanilla, and clove that create the perfect blend.

Tazo Calm Chamomile Herbal Tea

This tea is very calming. I actually just tried it less than a year ago and was impressed at how comforting this tea is. It has a floral and slightly fruity taste to it. I’ve heard that chamomile tea isn’t for everyone, which is probably why I hadn’t tried it until recently, but I do like it very much, especially in the evenings.

Tazo Passion Herbal Tea

Best. Tea. Ever. I cannot say enough good things about Tazo’s Passion herbal tea. OMG, it’s just too good. Seriously, it has the boldest flavor from one tea bag that I’ve ever experienced. The flavor is just incomparable. In regards to taste, the tea is an infusion of delicious hibiscus, passion fruit, rose hips, and orange peel. It also steeps into the most vivid magenta color – actually stunning to look at!

Feeling Tea-spired? I know I am! The second I stop typing, I’m going to go make myself a cup of Christmas Eve tea because it’s freezing/snowy here. Let me know which herbal teas you’ve tried and are your favorites in the comments below. Have a good weekend!
