What’s On My Christmas Wish List

Happy Sunday! I am sitting propped up in my bed, wrapped up in my freshly cleaned bedclothes, and it feels glorious. Earlier, Cesar left to play paintball, which means my “me day” has officially begun.

We’ve spent a lot of the weekend ordering gifts for our families, and I remembered how fun it was to write about how to create a no-fail holiday wish list for your loved ones (see here), so I decided to share my own wish list for this year, and I am excited to hear from y’all about what’s on your lists this year, too. I’m cracking up thinking about how very different my wish lists are these days compared to when I was younger and growing up. Back then, I wanted the entire Toys R Us catalog and every piece of clothing I laid my eyes on – consumerism at its finest! Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE shopping, but the older I get, the more I realize how a bunch of stuff can’t make you happy.  Now, I try to think long-term when I make purchases.

Anyway, in the above-mentioned post, I created a list of 4 items: something you want, something you need, something silly, and something for the home. Well, my friends, this year I changed it up to include something you want, something you need, something you wear, and something to read (doesn’t that rhyme make your heart happy? It does mine! haha). I actually chose TWO things for the “wear” category ’cause it’s just one of those replenishing years, ya know?

Something I want: A new phone case (these days, my phone case changes about as often as my Facebook profile pic – about once a year!), Anthropologie $36

Something I need: Black leather mid-calf boots (the ones I wear every day are 5 years old now), Frye $130

Something to wear: A long puffer coat + Winter boots (East Coast winters, what can I say), Eddie Bauer $229; Sperry Top-Sider boots, $100

If you haven’t heard of Cara Alwill Leyba, she’s this self-empowerment badass, and you should check her out on Instagram at @thechampagnediet. She lives in Brooklyn, and I really hope that I can go to one of her events in the city and meet her.

Happy holidays, friends! xx
