How To Create A No-Fail Holiday Wish List To Share With Your Loved Ones

With Thanksgiving past us, everyone is turning their attention to the upcoming holiday season. Christmas is only 27 days away – I don’t know where this year has gone! While I have been thinking of gift ideas for my loved ones and have created two separate holiday gift guides for all the ladies and gents in your life (you can check them out here and here), I have forgotten to think about what gifts that I would like to receive this year.

Ironically, I was just scrolling through my Evernote notes, and I came across a note with the title, “Gift Ideas.” I seriously have no idea where I got this little nugget of information, but I’m glad I jotted it down because it’s good enough advice for me to want to share it with ya’ll! If you’re someone who struggles to create a holiday wish list for yourself, below you’ll find an easy strategy for making one.

4-Point Checklist for Your Wish Lists

  • Something you want
  • Something you need
  • Something silly
  • Something for your home

Soo simple, right? As someone who will typically hyper-focus on just ONE area (like asking everyone for bliss body butters and lush face masks, haha!) I love the different gift categories. This is definitely going to help me diversify what I ask for. My parents are the kind of gift-givers that will get you exactly what you ask for with few surprises (which I really appreciate!), and now I feel inspired to get my Amazon wish list set up and sent to them today.

Off the top of my head, here’s what I’m thinking of for my holiday wish list:

My Wish List

  • Something I want: TOMS Desert Wedges in taupe
  • Something I need: An extra Macbook Air charger
  • Something silly: This art print of a dachshund’s sleep study pattern (I’m obsessed with them!)
  • Something for my home: 4-in-1 Immersion blender

I’m so happy that I came across this little note that I wrote back in July (!) that lays out this simple 4-point formula for gift ideas. I hope it is as helpful to you as it has been for me. Now, I’m am about to create my holiday wish list for my parents and am planning on sending it to them by the end of the day today.

I’d love to hear what’s on your wish lists! Share in the comments below.
