September Goals

 
Happy September, loves! Last month, I decided to keep my July mind-body-soul goals for August because I hadn’t worked diligently enough to reach those goals because of my hectic lifestyle.

August Goals in Review

Mind: Try to be present in every situation, no matter how “important” it is
Body: Take advantage of this amazing weather, and spend more time outdoors
Soul: Start blogging more consistently again
 
Overall, August was a much more balanced for me, and I was able to publish seven posts last month, which is about 2 posts a week. I also got back to enjoying our building’s pool on the weekends, which is one way I practice self-care. The one goal that I still haven’t conquered just yet is being present in every situation; it’s a struggle for me sometimes because my mind is constantly racing with to-do’s and trying to snap out of that is challenging. Luckily, I bought 6 months of headspace for $20 (my first purchase from an Instagram ad!), and I’ve been meditating in the mornings to help my mind relax a bit.

September Goals

Mind: Meditate for 10 minutes daily to help calm my racing mind
Body: Workout 3-4 days a week to prepare my body for Peru and hiking Machu Picchu
Soul: Engage with and get to know locals and fellow travelers while on vacation in Peru
 
Labor Day Weekend in Toronto kicked off our travel season for the year. We’re going to Peru September 21-29th and will be traveling to Charlotte the next weekend for a friend’s wedding, then Thanksgiving in Illinois and Christmas in Phoenix and Salt Lake City – we have a lot to look forward to.
