May Goals

Who can believe it’s MAY already?! We are 5 months into 2019, and it feels like it’s all flown by in the blink of an eye for me. I’ve been so preoccupied with getting settled into my new life in Denver that writing consistently has gone out the window.

Today, I’m going to share what I’m doing this month in order to further this year’s overarching mind-body-soul goals, which are:

Mind: Create more self-confidence in myself
Body: Increase quality time with my boyfriend
Soul: Sell my own products

For creating more self-confidence in myself, I’ve been writing down an entire page worth of the following affirmation, “Thank you for giving me creative career opportunities where I’ve believed in and paid what I’m worth”. I’m doing this because I was having a true block in regards to my career pivot from nonprofit education management to a more creative marketing role, so this is helping me change my mindset and letting me BELIEVE that it’s going to happen, and I deserve it.

I’m also currently reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and oh my! I’m getting quite absorbed into the idea of manifestation and the natural laws that our world scientifically operate with (you know the law of gravity? the law of attraction is a thing, too!).

Because I’m enjoying The Secret so much, just this morning I went on Amazon and purchased a few of the other books that she published after The Secret – The Power, The Magic, and The Hero (I bought each book used for $10 or less!). Reading these books will no doubt help me with continuing to get more comfortable believing in myself and my talents.

Regarding my body goal to increase quality time with my boyfriend, yesterday was actually our 5 year anniversary! It’s been an incredible journey, and I love Cesar so much. I feel so much JOY that he is my person. He graciously got me a Swedish massage and peppermint oil scalp treatment from Matrix Fitness & Spa, which is only a few blocks from our apartment, and it was a glorious experience. Because my allergies have been flaring up quite often, I opted for the masseuse to use eucalyptus oil for the massage to help with that, and then the peppermint oil tingled my entire head, and the massage table was heated the entire team – simply divine. Afterward, I spent about 15 minutes in the sauna, which elevated the head tingles even further.

Many of you know, Cesar plays competitive paintball, and he’s actually in Texas this weekend for an NXL tournament, so spending the morning getting pampered because of his generosity meant a lot.

We do have an overnight trip planned to go to Breckenridge next Saturday to celebrate together, and I’m so looking forward to it – we’re even bringing our pup, Bella. Going away together, even for a day, is one of my favorite ways to spend quality time together. Other than that, I also enjoy and want to do more cooking together this month.

For selling my own products, I have been slacking a bit, but I will finalize and publish for sale my eBook on how to start a blog by the end of this month, mark my words! Scheduling time to work on it this week and won’t fall through.

What are you working towards this month? Tell us in the comments below.

xx Marah Elizabeth
