January Goals

In true personal development fashion, this year, I skipped the whole “new year, new me” anthem and went more with the “new year, better me” one. After having such a hard 2018, I surprised even myself by reflecting and actually feeling grateful for who I am and am looking to continue building onto that momentum.

See, every hardship and unexpected heartache this past year has helped me build empathy and compassion for others who have experienced similar situations. Taking a line from Oprah, what I know for sure is that people who express empathy and compassion are the game-changers in today’s society, and I’d like to be one of them.

Anyway, after giving it some time and thought, I decided to simplify my goal-making process this year by creating 3 overarching goals for the year – one mind, one body, and one soul goal. Each month, I plan on doing different things in order to work towards achieving the same goals each month, whereas the past two years, I have changed my mind-body-soul goals each and every month.

My Mind-Body-Soul Goals for 2019

Without further ado, my mind-body-soul goals for this year are:

Mind: Create more self-confidence
Body: Increase quality time with my boyfriend
Soul: Sell my own products

I am turning 30 in less than a month, and it feels like a big deal to me. I don’t know if it’s because it seems like such a big milestone or what, but in my heart, I truly want to accomplish these goals and am feeling thrilled by the vision I have in my mind for when these goals come to fruition. Each month, I’ll be trying different strategies for accomplishing these three goals – stay tuned!

What goals are driving you forward this year? If you haven’t yet set goals for the new year, I encourage you to start now. It truly doesn’t matter if it’s a new year or a new minute – you can decide to start working towards accomplishing something anytime you want. Personally, I have found that writing goals down on paper and then writing them out again and again, say once a week, keeps me more focused and encouraged throughout the process of working to achieve them.

Cheers,
xx Marah Elizabeth
