My 5 Favorite Brick & Mortar Stores to Shop for Home Decor

Festive is a word I like to associate myself with – and decorating goes hand in hand with it. Although I do a lot my shopping online, there’s something about buying home decor in person that you just can’t replicate from an online purchase, I gotta feel it, visualize what it will look like in my space, and determine if it’s the right fit with other decor already in my apartment.

So where do I shop for home decor? I have a few go-to stores and am also looking for some ideas from y’all!

1. Marshall’s / TJ Maxx

Every time I go, it’s like a treasure hunt, I get lost in the decor, kitchen, and home sections, and who am I kidding? Usually my hands are full with items I’ve picked up (Natural deodorant? Yes, I need that! A new candle for fall? Absolutely!), and I have to tone it down before I get to the check-out line.

2. HomeGoods

This is my favorite place to shop for home decor because it offers a ton of variety and specializes in home decor. I have to know exactly what I need before I go to HomeGoods so I stay on track there.

3. Target

Who else gets sucked into the dollar bin section at Target? every. single. time! Over the years, Target has really stepped up in home decor game, and I’m here for it! I love their bed ‘n bath sections, too.

4. H&M

Not only was I smitten with H&M when I moved to NYC for their simple basics and flats, but they also have some great home decor that’s quite affordable and simplistic. I’ve picked up some bins, coasters, and blankets from here.

5. Thrift Stores

Thrift shopping is one of my favorite things to do of all time. Home decor items often get donated, too, so it’s another treasure hunt (a very affordable treasure hunt at that!). In the past, I’ve been able to pick up some gems, including a lovely mirror, various picture frames, books, and more.
